The stiffness effect of molybdenum and niobium on the nickel-chromium matrix gives Inconel 625 plate its strength; hence, precipitation-hardening treatments are not necessary. This mixture of elements is often responsible for excellent resistance to a broad variety of unusually harsh corrosive conditions, as well as high-temperature symptoms such as oxidation and carburization. Inconel 625 sheets, also known as Nickel Alloy 625 sheets, are nickel-based and can withstand temperatures ranging from cryogenic extreme freezes to 1000 degrees Celsius/2000 degrees Fahrenheit.
