EN8 round bar is pure medium carbon steel with decent ductile strength compared to normal mild steel. EN8 steel is appropriate for all round manufacturing applications, which require advanced strength such as manufacturing tubes, studs, bolts, linking rods, screws, rollers etc.
EN8 bright bar is a medium power cheerful mild steel that is appropriate for general manufacturing purposes that need steel of a higher power than mild steel. Characteristic uses include tubes, studs, screws and keys. Better superiority than EN3 but is less effortlessly machined.
EN8 bright mild steel round is a medium power which is suitable for over-all engineering determinations that need steel of a higher strength than mild steel. EN8 bright square bar have been cold over, cold drawn. EN8 grade is a pure, medium carbon Steel, which has extraordinary strength levels as compared to normal Bright Mild Steel, due to flask mechanical rolling.

A hard edge can occur when flame cutting EN8 plate, therefore this grade is commonly normalized after flame cutting. EN8 flame cut profiles can be supplied Lumsden ground or precision ground.
Ground Flat StockPrecision ground flat stock / gauge plate can be produced using EN8 steel. Subject to size suitability and availability of raw material pieces can be produced in approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Standard and non-standard sizes are available.
ApplicationsEN8 is widely used for many general engineering applications. Typical applications include shafts, studs, bolts, connecting rods, screws, rollers.
ForgingPreheat the steel carefully, and then raise temperature to 1050°C for forging. Do not forge below 850°C. After forging cool slowly, preferably in a furnace.
AnnealingHeat slowly to 680-710°C, soak well. Cool slowly in the furnace.
HardeningHeat the component slowly to 820-860°C and allow it to be heated through. Quench in oil or water.
TemperingTemper the EN8 component immediately after quenching whilst tools are still hand warm. Re-heat the EN8 component to the tempering temperature then soak for one hour per 25 millimeter of total thickness (2 hours minimum) Cool in air.

The alloy for en1a round bar is a low carbon-manganese steel grade. This free cutting steel is also available with a modified en1a leaded chemical composition as grade EN1A Pb. The modified alloy is known to have enhanced machinability properties.
The good en1a mechanical properties of these components like the en1a leaded round bar are why they are used for hydraulic settings. In fact, the en1a leaded manufacturers recommend using these components, particularly for those applications which involve intricate drilling as well as machining operations. Generally, this grade of en1a rod is well suited for machining operations that use both automatic and CNC machines.
Also referred to as 230M07, the en1a bright bar could be case hardened in order to produce components. Case hardened en1a hexagon bar has enhanced wear resistance properties. These properties of the en1a steel flat bar are useful for the production of components which require a superior finished surface with a high rate of manufacture.
