Aluminium Alloy Sheet 6082(T651) is manufactured under the following sizes and specifications. Also the material shall be supplied correctly as per your required size and specification, your detailed technical data/drawing for those items with valued enquires.

Available Sizes

Alloy 6082 is available from 6mm to 200mm.

Characteristics

Aluminium alloy 6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. It has the highest strength of the 6000 series alloys. Alloy 6082 is known as a structural alloy. In plate form, Aluminium alloy 6082 is the alloy most commonly used for machining. As a relatively new alloy, the higher strength of Aluminium alloy 6082 has seen it replace 6061 in many applications. The addition of a large amount of manganese controls the grain structure which in turn results in a stronger alloy. In the T6 and T651 temper, Aluminium alloy 6082 machines well and produce tight coils of swarf when chip breakers are used.

Typical Applications

Aluminium alloy 6082 is typically used in High stress applications, Trusses, Bridges, Cranes, Transport applications, Ore skips, Beer barrels and Milk churns.

Aluminum Alloy 5083 contains 5.2% magnesium, 0.1% manganese and 0.1% chromium. In the tempered condition, it is strong, and retains good formability due to excellent ductility. 5083 has high resistance to corrosion, and is used in marine applications. It has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity common to all Aluminum alloys.

Typical Applications:

  • Require a weldable alloy of high to moderate strength, with good corrosion resistance. Marine applications, unfired welded pressure vessels, TV towers, drilling rigs, transportation equipment, armour plate.

Description:

  • Aluminum 5083 is a strong magnesium-manganese-chromium-Aluminum alloy. It can be hardened by cold work, but is not heat treatable to higher strength. It has good ductility for the strength level, better than most other 5000 series alloys (see figure).

Corrosion Resistance:

  • Alloy 5083 has excellent resistance to general corrosion, and is used in marine applications. Resistance is excellent in aqueous solutions in the pH range 4 – 9. The corrosion resistance of Aluminum alloys relies on a protective surface oxide film, which when damaged is readily repaired by the rapid reaction between Aluminum and oxygen. However, the high reactivity of the base metal can give rapid corrosion if the film cannot be repaired, so Aluminum alloys are not suitable for use with reducing media. Alloy 5083 can be anodised to improve the corrosion resistance by thickening the protective surface film. Alloy 5083 can be susceptible to exfoliation corrosion in severe applications. Material in the H116 temper is least susceptible, and passes the ASTM G66 Exfoliation Susceptibility Test (ASSET Test). AS 1734 suggests alloy 5083 should not be used above 65°C.

Pressure Vessels:

  • AS1210 Pressure Vessels pre-qualifies alloy 5083 for pressure service for temperatures up to 65°C in the O, H112 & H321 tempers.

alumiun 8011 is an alloy that contains a high content of silicon in its chemical composition. To bring about the best in the alloys, it is very common for the 8011 Aluminium Foil to be tempered. Usually, tempers designated as H14 & H18 are practiced on this grade. The letter designation H indicates that the alloy is tempered by strain-hardening. Strain hardening is considered to be ab ideal choice for non-heat-treatable alloys such as Din 3.4144 Shim Sheet. This is because strain hardening tends to improve their strength. A temper such as strain hardening is practiced typically at room temperature. In the case of Aluminium 8011 H18, the alloy is cold worked severely such that it equals an approximate fo 75% reduction in are. The other common temper designation is T14, where the material is Strain hardened, or what is also referred to as cold worked. Cold working the 8011 Aluminium Coil is minus thermal treatment and is half hard. One of the benefits of using this temper is that the alloy gets resistant to cracking 8011 Aluminum Foil, permitting the worker to either emboss or deboss this material without becoming susceptible to cracking. The Aluminium 8011 Thermal Conductivity is about 237 W/mk. Lastly, aside from increased strength due to tempering, the 8011 Aluminum Material Properties include excellent surface properties, for instance - good wettability and decent resistance to corrosion.
